Loads of West Ham fans have been reacting to the latest transfer news, as it looks like Danilo Pereira could be their new defensive midfielder.

According to the popular Hammers’ insider, there is definite interest in Pereira, Yacine Brahimi, Hector Herrera and Moussa Marega.

Any one of these four would be an excellent addition for Manuel Pellegrini, but Pereira fits the gaping hole in midfield that every fan is desperate for the club to fill.

Cheikhou Kouyate left to join Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but the Hammers would be making a massive upgrade if they swooped for Pereira, who is valued at £21.6m by Transfermarkt.

The colossal midfielder has 27 caps for Portugal, and averaged 2.6 aerial wins, 2.2 tackles and 1.8 interceptions per game last season, all while boasting an 88 per cent pass completion rate.

He is 6 ft 2, strong, smart and he absolutely loves getting stuck in. Fans are begging for this move, as they feel it’s the final piece of Pellegrini’s puzzle.
