Manuel Pellegrini brought in nine new signings in the summer transfer window following his appointment as West Ham United manager.

The Chilean coach strengthened the defence, midfield and wide areas but it looks as though he may need to dip into the market once again when it reopens in January.

The Hammers recovered after losing their first four games of the Premier League season by earning victories over Everton and Manchester United, as well as restricting Chelsea to a goalless draw.

However, prior to the international break the club came down from Cloud 9 with a thud after losing 1-0 to Brighton away at the Amex Stadium.

In midfield, the club currently have Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez on the sidelines and they are yet to find a long-term replacement for Mark Noble.

The left-back position has been an issue this season, with Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell struggling to impress.

In addition, the club may want to consider signing another striker given that Andy Carroll is injury prone and Javier Hernandez has struggled to find his place in the team.
