Tottenham sealed their spot in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday night as they emerged 2-0 victors over rivals Arsenal, courtesy of goals from Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli, but the agony for Gunners fans is that they showed no signs of the combative performance that earned them a 4-2 win against the same opposition earlier in December.
Unai Emery has been able to get the best out of the likes of Alex Iwobi and Rob Holding as he takes the helm and the latter has almost equalled his Premier League appearances for last season this year, but the former was ineffective last night and looked like the player we saw under Arsene Wenger – all flair and no substance.
The Nigerian was a favourite of the former Gunners boss and has clearly got into Emery’s good books too – he was picked over Mesut Ozil again for the Lilywhites clash – but the Emirates faithful don’t seem too keen after his latest showing.
