According to reliable West Ham United club insider @ExWHUemployee on Twitter, West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang has made a return to training ahead of schedule following injury and could be available for selection against Leicester City at the weekend, and Irons fans want him in the starting XI.
Two successive 4-1 defeats against Arsenal and then Manchester City at the London Stadium on Sunday have left the east London outfit just three points above the Premier League relegation zone with three fixtures left to play, and they certainly need a few more points to preserve their top flight status for another year.
Obiang suffered a knee injury against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup back in January that was expected to keep him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season, but he could now be competing with the likes of Mark Noble, who enraged his own fans on Twitter with his comments following the City loss, and Cheikhou Kouyate for a spot in David Moyes’ side on Saturday.
West Ham supporters were quick to have their say on the Obiang update via social media, and while one said “get him in the starting XI”, another said “I think this is who we have been missing”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
