In an interview with The Telegraph, Dani Alves has stated that he still believes he will play Premier League football before the end of his career.
What’s the word?
The 35-year-old right-back has enjoyed a sparkling club career, winning major honours across Europe in spells with Sevilla, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG. However, the 107-cap Brazil international has never plyed his trade in England before.
With Alves’ contract at the Parc des Princes set to expire at the end of this season, the opportunity to make his mark in the Premier League could come next time out if any top flight clubs in England decide to pick up the full-back as a free agent.

If Arsenal are able to qualify for Champions League football this season, then the Emirates Stadium may represent an attractive next destination for the decorated defender.
Winning mentality
The Gunners signed veteran full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner this summer to provide depth and competition for Hector Bellerin. Whilst the Swiss himself has struggled to shine, his presence has certainly benefitted the performances of the young Spaniard.
Lichtsteiner will likely need replacing when his contract expires at the end of the season, and bringing in another veteran to perform the same role alongside Bellerin would be a wise move by Unai Emery – who worked with Alves at PSG.
Alves would replace the experience, authority and winning mentality that Lichtsteiner currently lends the north London dressing room too. If the Gunners could agree a fair wage deal with the Brazilian then he could prove to be a shrewd free signing next summer.
What do you think, Arsenal fans – would going for Alves to replace Lichtsteiner next summer be a wise idea?
