New Arsenal manager Unai Emery is keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to Calciomercato.
What’s the story?
Emery will be under pressure to hit the ground running now that he has officially succeeded Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.
Before the action gets underway on the pitch, all eyes will be on the Spaniard’s activity in this summer’s transfer window.
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are keeping a close eye on Rabiot, who Emery is very familiar with having coached him at PSG over the past two seasons.
The box-to-box midfielder’s current contract at Parc des Princes expires in 2019, and the Italian publication claims that he has no interest in discussing fresh terms.
With that being said, PSG might be more open to striking a deal with a suitor this summer rather than allow him to see out his contract and leave for nothing.

Is Rabiot a good option?
Arsenal’s defensive problems were heavily highlighted throughout the season, but the team experienced issues in midfield, as well.
The jury is still out on Granit Xhaka, while Jack Wilshere’s future remains uncertain.
Rabiot possesses defensive attributes as well as the ability to pick out a pass, and given that he has already worked with Emery, it could be a seamless transition.
On top of that, the midfielder was recently left out of the France squad for the World Cup, which may trigger him to make a change.
This season, Rabiot made 47 appearances in all competitions for PSG and contributed with seven assists and four goals.
