It was the story that dominated much of 2023, as Reyna's infamous conflict with Gregg Berhalter had a massive impact on the U.S. men's national team. When Berhalter was re-hired in the summer, the big question was how he'd work with Reyna and, at least so far, the results have been spectacular.
Reyna provided two assists in Thursday's 3-1 win over Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League and, after the match, spoke on how all involved have moved on nearly a year-and-a-half later.

“Obviously what happened, happened," Reyna told reporters on Thursday, "but I think both of us are so far past it and just so focused on the group that, yeah, it's not even an issue at all anymore. We're just so far past it.”

Reyna's performances in a USMNT shirt have been spectacular since Berhalter's return, with the midfielder shining against Ghana back in October with a two-goal performance. He followed that up with another goal against Trinidad & Tobago before providing two crucial assists to Haji Wright in extra time of Thursday's clash with Jamaica.
After the match, Berhalter fired back at Reyna's critics, saying that the midfielder's quality is "unquestionable".

The USMNT moved into the CONCACAF Nations League final with their win over Jamaica and will now look to make it three consecutive trophy wins to start the competition's history. In their way will be eternal rivals Mexico, though, who demolished Panama 3-0 in their semifinal.
"I'll be ready to do whatever it takes for the team on Sunday," he said ahead of the final. "I feel good actually…I'm still pretty tired. I think I still played 75, but myself and the rest of the squad, we'll be recovering in the next few days, and prepared for Sunday, whatever it takes to hopefully win the trophy."
